◆ In 1993, Danjiangkou municipal government and Dong Feng Motor Corporation (DFM)started building a factory in joint venture, and the factory was firstly named as Hubei Forging Factory. As a national-level project of the Eighth Five-Year Plan (1991-1995) of China, Danjiangkou municipal government owned 52% shares, and DFM owned the rest 48%.
◆ In 1994, the Hubei Forging Factory imported a 12,500t hot-die forging processing line from Russia and soon started installation, testing and completing works.
◆ In 1997, the factory changed its name to Hubei Shenli Forging Co., Ltd., and went into operation. Its main products were crankshafts, front axles and front axle assemblies, most of them were sold to DFM.
◆In 2003, the shareholder of Danjiangkou municipal government transferred 10% shares to DFM free of charge. The receiver transferred 51% shares to DFL and keeps the rest 7%, Danjjiangkou Machinery & Electronic Company owned 42%.
◆ When Dongfeng Forging Factory have re-organized and upgraded to Dongfeng Forging Company in 2005, DFL transferred its shares (51%) of Hubei Shenli Forging Co., Ltd., to Dong Feng Forging Company. The receiver thus became the holding shareholder, while the rest shareholders and their shares remain unchanged.
